My hba1c has increased from 5.7 to 5.8 in 5 months. Despite my intermittent fasting, and taking negligible carb, why is my hba1c not going down. And, should I be more alarming towards my health, as I am in the prediabetes range.

Keep your BMI less than 22 Hba1c has false positive and false negatives results Check fbs and ppbs Impaired  glucose tolerance - metformin has to be started

Since you reported you are prediabetic , but the levels are quite normal only . Prediabetic people should have fasting sugar >120mgs Postprandial >160mg HBA1C levels between >6to 6.5 .
