As HBA1c is in prediabetic range u can maintain diet and exercise and monitor sugars. If HbA1c reaching 7 then can start on treatment.

Your HbA1C is indicative of prediabetes. If diet and exercise fails to improve HbA1C, then metformin and couple of other medications can be taken.
