Post wisdom tooth removal

My lower wisdom tooth was extracted and stitched with silk thread yesterday afternoon. Do i brush my teeth using ordinary toothpaste? Or do i do a warm salt water gargle? Or will it cause dry socket? What must be my routine for this week?

Keeping the surgical site is of utmost importance. And dry socket will only result when the clot gets dislodged within 24 to 48 hours. So avoid rigorous brushing or rigorous rinsing for first two days. Otherwise you can follow normal routine and warm saline rinsing

You may normally brush your remaining dentition. But use betadine gargle for clearing food particle around socket & sutures.Warm saline gargle is best done in the morning. Followed by jaw opening exercise. Please take regular dosage of medicines prescribed by your dentist.
Health Tips
betadine gargle in 1:5 water ratio to be rinsed with after every meal for as many days as socket is open to avoid secondary infection.

Dear Sir, You can brush your teeth in a routine manner, however do not brush over the area of the extracted tooth and stitches. You can start with warm saline gargles at least thrice a day. Try to keep the extraction area clean and prefer eating soft diet for the week.

Try avoiding to brush on that side for a day or two. Strictly use the prescribed mouthwash and warm saline gargle. Maintenance of proper hygiene is important.

Brush ur teeth normally and also do warm saline mouth rinse but not vigorously , it may injure the surgical area. No special routine is to be followed just do what the dentist has asked you to do. Have soft and non spicy diet. Keep good oral hygiene. Take your medicines on time and complete the entire dosage. It will take around a weeks time to heal.
Next Steps
Practice good oral hygiene and take medicine properly
