Hi Doctor, a surgery has been performed on my dad after the accident on mar 2. After around 2.5 months now we have seen the swelling nd water like boiled formed on the wound. It was perfectly healed few weeks back. Though he couldn't get up or walk till now, atleast we were gald there wasn't any infection. Now we are really worried for his health, can you please guide us nutritive foods to be taken to heal the infection quickly. Also he was an an alcoholic before, so would that impact now, due to many mediactions he is also having blood in his stools. Please guide as we are seriously worried on what to do. We went to the doctor and he prescribed us antibiotics for the infection and few injections. Please help us in understanding the situation better. Regards Mounisha (daughter of the mentioned person)

Hi .mounisha  Those fluid filled sack are called blisters. Generated due to heat or swelling around wound area . Yes it can be infectious. Doctor strated antibiotic is right thing to do. But has he checked  CRP ESR cbc procalcitonin level for infection. Food u can give her protien rich diet . Blood in stool - check if any blood thinner medicine or injection ( to make blood thin ) is given. Usually after long bone surgery it is given as patient not walking immediately and chance of cloth formation are high. So this medicine need to be given As u mentioned alcohol. - give him supplement of vitamin B complex
