Post surgery exercise

I had a hernioplasty or a surgery where they put mesh for my hernia 3 weeks ago and i am advised not to lift heavy objects for 6 months. I can move well now and i wanna lose weight so can i do some plankings?

Hello. Plank would put complete pressure on the stomach muscles, which is to be avoided. The reason why the doctors have asked you not to lift weights is, that it would put pressure on the stomach. it would advisable to brisk walk, as a form of physical activity, it being the safest. Lets not risk the internal health for external appearance. Rest for 6 months and then start of with your exercise. Till then control on the food habits, and have a strict diet control, which would help prevent a shoot up in your weight.
