I have been advised to sit on chairs since it has been a week since the surgery happened but I'm not sure how long can I sit. I'm a student and the past few days have affected my studies a lot. So if I sit for like 6 hours in sessions of 2-2 hours, will that be stressful for my knee or can I do it?

If the surgery was uneventful then,
You can sit as long as you are comfortable, preventing jerk and twist around the operated knee
