Panic-ish episodes , restlessness

2026-05-07 07:46:27
I get sudden episodes 3–4 times a day where I feel uneasy and restless. Suddenly I don’t feel like doing anything. Sometimes I feel heat inside my body, like warmth or steam rising from inside. I have back pain and sometimes headaches as well. At times I feel weak, drained, or lifeless. When I focus on a body part, the pain there feels stronger. I work long hours on a computer. During these episodes, applying pressure or hitting my back sometimes makes me feel temporarily better. These symptoms have been happening regularly every day.

I understand that these episodes are very distressing and interfering with your daily life. The symptoms you’ve described—sudden restlessness, internal heat, back pain, and a feeling of being 'lifeless'—point toward a strong connection between your physical body and your nervous system. At 22, working long hours on a computer, here are a few possibilities and steps to take: 1. Potential Causes Anxiety or Panic Episodes: The sudden 'uneasy' feeling and internal warmth are classic signs of an overactive 'fight or flight' response. When you focus intensely on a body part and the pain feels stronger, it is often due to somatic focusing, where the brain amplifies physical sensations because it is in a state of high alert. Postural Stress & Nerve Irritation: Working long hours at a computer can lead to significant back strain. Sometimes, irritation of the nerves in the back can cause strange sensations like heat or warmth to radiate through the body. Burnout and Fatigue: The feeling of being 'drained' or 'lifeless' suggests that your current work schedule may be causing physical and mental exhaustion. 2. Recommendations & Next Steps Physical Screening: Consult a General Physician to rule out any underlying issues. Specifically, ask them to check your Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and Thyroid levels (TSH). Deficiencies in these can often cause back pain, weakness, and mood changes. Ergonomic Breaks: Since you work on a computer, implement the '20-20-20' rule and stand up to stretch every hour. This helps reset the nervous system and relieves back pressure. Stress Management: Since applying pressure to your back makes you feel better, your body may be craving 'grounding' sensations. You might benefit from deep breathing exercises or progressive muscle relaxation when an episode starts. Summary: While these episodes feel very scary, they are often the body's way of signaling that it is under too much stress. Getting a basic blood profile done and addressing your workstation ergonomics are the best places to start.

Is there any anxiety during these episodes? Or is it just these physical sensations. If you have had some episodes of low mood, tiredness lasting like more than 2 weeks. Maybe this is part of depression. But since you are focusing more on the physical nature of episodes. More detailed evaluation for ruling out other causes like migraine (since it's associated with headache) or temporal lobe epilepsy (since you describe it like a very short episode of some sensations). Most likely it will be something related to anxiety or depression but this all depends on more history. Right now from what you have described i will suggest to get a consultation at the earliest to find out the cause. Simultaneously we can start a treatment. I provide online consultation and therapy support. Take the consultation for evaluation and management.

The sudden episodes of restlessness, feeling 'heat' or steam inside the body, and a sense of being 'lifeless' or drained are classic physical manifestations of Severe Anxiety or Panic Episodes. When you focus intensely on a body part and the pain feels stronger, it is known as Somatic Symptom Disorder—where the mind amplifies physical sensations due to underlying stress. Working long hours on a computer further contributes to physical fatigue and back pain, which your mind is likely processing as more severe than it is."

These episodes can sometimes be related to anxiety stress response, muscle tension, poor sleep, prolonged screen work, vitamin deficiencies or exhaustion, but since they are happening daily it would be good to evaluate properly rather than ignoring them 👍 try adequate hydration, regular sleep, screen breaks and stretching meanwhile; a detailed consultation can help identify the exact trigger and guide the right treatment and recovery plan comfortably 🌸

I totally understand your problem, the issue can be because of long sitting, so to improve this just prevent sitting continuously for long hours as it can imapct your spine and blood supply to your brain. So once in a while just get up from chair and do some stretching excercises just to relax your back. While sleeping use soft pillows, as it can be due to cervical issues. Keep your chair at the level of your computer or your books and try not to bend your neck and back too much.
Next Steps
If pain and restlessness still persists then better consult and get an XRAY LS SPINE done before any consultation
