Painful anal abscess

I have a painful abscess/ boil looking thing on my anus. It has been bothering me roughly a day or two and just started with slight itching, yesterday I had a close friend check, she spotted a small round boil looking mark on the top of my anus. I am wondering whether I should see my GP, a nurse, or a doctor at hospital.
