Pain under knee area

I got injured while doing exercise by the cycle paddle in the gym It hit me hard 4-5 times while it was spinning. Now the area beside my knee is swollen due to which I am unable to walk properly. I went to the doctor he gave me pain relief medicine and took an xray, He told me to apply ice 3-4 time a day. I am a working professional and I don't get time to do all this. Please guide me what to do next

Hi..you can visit Physio clinic..get treated..it will be of benefit..till then avoid offending movement..also lower limb workout for few days.

Pain is body's signal that something is wrong and swelling is its reaction so that we'll avoid too much movement or put load on it. Also, like what Dr Isha Mehta advised, no workout on your legs or offending movements. Try to take rest. Just taking pain medication to mask pain will just take longer for healing to take place and may make situation worse. A visit to your local physiotherapist or occupational therapist will surely speed up your recovery.
Next Steps
RICE: Rest, Ice,  Compression & Elevation is the best way to take care of acute injuries involving swelling. Keep a pillow under your bed to keep your feet elevated. Crepe bandage can be used for compression.
Health Tips
Being  a woman, you may want to keep a check on your calcium, vitamin D & hemoglobin levels too.
