Pain in quadriceps tendon

I have been doing functional training for 3 months. Since this form of exercise puts lot of stress on body parts, it usually causes some difficulties. I have pain in my quadriceps tendon of my right leg. I am able to walk but doing squats and lunges is painful. What would you suggest for recovery?
