Do you have
Diabetes mellitus ? Please explain pain in feet. Do the legs pain too ? Or only the upper part of the feet pain ? Are the soles painful ? What medications do you take on regular basis and for what diseases ? Did you have any previous psychological issues like anxiety and depression ?
I need to check your feet and legs clinically before I can come to a conclusion. Check your peripheral arteries and veins and nerves and the local structures of your soles and the skin and underlying tissues of your lower extremities to exclude any infection, ulcers or other conditions. Some basic blood tests might have to be done.
For the night time panic attacks : Though you might need psychiatric help, consultation with an empathetic and patient general practitioner can alleviate your symptoms.
Do you wake up from sleep during the panic attacks ? Is there some stressful trigger factor ?
Next Steps
You must consult a general practitioner to rule out diseases the symptoms of which may mimic panic attacks, like
thyroid or heart problems and other underlying stress or psychological factors.
Health Tips
Some tips to alleviate the symptoms during a panic attack :
1. Count backwards from 100 repeatedly for about 20 minutes to half hour.
2. Rub ice on your chest downwards and on your head if it feels heavy.
3. Some medicines like clonazepam, lorazepam or alprazopam may help but a doctor's prescription would be necessary.
4. Deep breathing in and out, 5 seconds each for half hour.
Before the panic attack :
1. Meditation and contemplation.
2. Cognitive behavioural therapy which is a type of counseling depending on the thought and perceptive patterns of the patient or some other types of counselling.
3. Trying to focus on your senses like touch, smell, taste and vision.
4. Last but very surely not the least, a good sex life.
