• Keep area completely dry (most important step)
• Avoid closed, tight footwear; use open/ventilated footwear
• Dry between toes after bathing (can use tissue or hair dryer on cool mode)
• Change socks daily; avoid moisture retention
• Do not apply steroid creams (can worsen infection)
• If diabetic or worsening pain/swelling → urgent doctor visit needed
