Hello Doctors, my mother aged 56, has unbearable swelling & pain in her knees. I am taking her to pilgrimage and she has to walk a lot. Can you prescribe any injection that can help her walk easily & she feels no pain for 15 days journey?

Will have to avoid too much walking. Get x rays for knee done. Can give intraarticular Hyaluronic acid with intraarticular steroids for temporary relief
Next Steps
Visit nearest orthopaedic surgeon regarding this and they will decide based on clinical examination and x ray findings

I would suggest avoiding walking while going on pilgrimage...Use dolly services walking aids and OA knee braces, rather than taking pain medication. Sprays and ointments with a hot pack or ice pack application..sufficient rest at night keeping legs in an elevated position..with all these measures.. she can have less pain..if at all needed can take paracetamol ..
