Beating Overthinking
Out of millions of suggestions, I wish to forward you TIPS that worked for me to beat this âdemonâ during my early days of life.
1.Know Thyself: Try to talk to yourself. Write down your worries. Thus, you are giving birth to your thoughts to action which helps them extinguish
2.Take Action: Once you know what is disturbing you, try taking action. Either eliminate it or do it
3.Physical Activity: Doing at least 30 minutes of workout (preferably aerobic) will do immense change on your thinking system. Irrespective of how your life is now, you will start to feel better, trust me
4.Be Responsible: If you tend to avoid responsibilities (eg: taking care of the pet, doing your studies on time, taking an online course for improving your career) itâs high time you did that, thus filling your brain with a sense of self-respect/esteem
5.Practice Reading/Any hobbies: Reading is highly recommended as it engages your cerebral cortex( modern brain) to execute highly intellectual function, thus barring the amygdala(primitive brain) of the excess emotional surge. An alternative to reading is practicing your hobby
6.Abstain from Addictive habits: Look for avoiding alcohol/drug consumption, binge-watching videos, playing video games, etc. They create a strong neural bond in your brain resulting in addiction. Such individuals are more prone to overthinking/daydreaming
7.Choose your food wisely: Replace junk foods with natural, locally available fruits and vegetables. Your brain will start improving in its function
8.Your Environment matters: Be assertive and say NO to negative people, discouraging environment (a hostile job), or to your partner if you believe they are creating a âmessâ in your life
9.Practice Meditation: Meditation is the best tool to tame your brain. Once you catch hold of your thoughts through it, you can be the master of your thoughts. Completely deciding when to think what!
10.Cure Physical/Mental Illness: If the above doesnât work, please consider a medical expert's help. Your intention is to live better with sanity. You deserve it.
Hope you feel better.
