I am suffering from OSMF stage 4 as told by an oral surgeon. Do I need laser Sergey or injection procedure? What will be the maximum cost of both type of treatment and which is more cost effective. Kindly suggest.

injection procedure is nearly useless in grade 4 osmf. laser surgery has limited results and doesnt have long term results published due to recent introduction . usually we recommend excision of bands with placement of skin graft or nasolabial flaps rather than any other artificial material for prevention of relapse of the situation. if interposititonal materials like flaps or grafts are not pplaced there is a tendency of the problem to recur. ask your surgeon if he can do the same else show to a specialist omf surgeon who can do tht for you. surgery may be covered under insurance and would be conducted at a facility having fiberoptic intubation under general anesthesia. medicinal treatments and unneccessary interventions like injections etc may only be wastage of time and money at this stage. stop your habit for sure else no treatemnt would be successful

Hello sir , in the age of 30 if you have osmf stage 4 i dont think you shouldnt even think twice of the cost. Life threaning disease should be more important than cost. Go by the doctors say. As he would be more aware of the clinical situation.
