Obesity and medicine suggestion

2025-07-18 13:56:08
I am 20 years old, 80 kg, height 5’5", female. I work out 2 hours every day, 6 days a week (weight training + cardio), and follow a low-calorie diet. I want to lose weight fast — at least 20 kg in 3–4 months. I read about Phentermine + Topiramate (Q-Semia/Qsymia) and want to know if it's safe for me.

Phenteemine + Topiramate is combination medication sometime prescribed for obesity. But it is not suitable everyone . It can be safe when under medical supervision Tried diet + exercise for several months without results No history of heart disease, high BP , glucoma, mental health conditions Other side effects Anxiety, irritation, sleep disturbances, tingling sensation, dry mouth, increased heart rate , mood swings My honest recommendation: As your young, this medication is help but 1. Only take it under strict care of endocrinologist or obesity specialist 2. Try natural weight loss for 3-6 months first ; diet , exercise, sleep and hormones check up 3. Rule out PCOS , hypothyroidism, insulin resistance and B12 and D3 deficiency.

Hi Its greaf that you are combining physical activity with diet changes to lose weight But, its a very rapid weight loss that you are aiming for which can cause side effects. Also taking these medicines can reduce your appetite and make you eat less. What happens when you stop taking them? Given that you are also working out, you need the right calories to support muscle gain. Otherwise you will end up losing muscles. Please consult a doctor about medicines.

For these particular kind medicine better to take guidance under general physician via physical visit and your blood test report Low calorie diet can help you loose weight at least 3-5 kg in a month That is a stable weight loss but if you add workout also so the bounce back chances will become less To have a detailed low calorie diet plan ( calories deficit diet plan) Better to connect over consultation
