Numbness after lower wisdom tooth extrac
I had a lower wisdom tooth extracted in feb 2017 and its march 2017 month end. But still theres a numbnes around chin and tooth and lower lips .please advise how to get the sense back on these.its been one month after tooth extraction. Is there any mouth excercise as such and what precaution can be taken?

It is one of the complications of wisdom tooth removal.
We need to take a complete history of the condition and few small tests for the same( like two point discrimination test). Has it improved from the very first week or is it the same ? Is your taste sensation normal?
The recovery depends on the extent of damage to the nerve.

Visit an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
You might have to take a medicine which the surgeon will be prescribing probably for a month and see whether it improves or not.

Numbness around chin and lower teeth may be causes by transient parasthesia.it may be because of injury /trauma/ compression to the nerve either while extracting the tooth, during healing or else while giving local anaesthesia .

Hi there, you might want to visit your dentist for a follow up after the removal of the wisdom tooth. Also a full mouth x-ray (OPG), prior to removing the wisdom tooth can further help to determine the difficulties/risks associated with the procedure.

This is one of the complications of wisdom tooth removal.Dont panic as this is mostly a transient condition and likely to improve with time.Do visit an oral surgeon for a check up and you may need to take a medicine for a month or so.

Greetings of the day. Please talk to your doctor who extracted your tooth. Nerve paresthesia is a known complication with regards to wisdom tooth removal, sensation can return to normal based on the extent of damage to the nerve.
