NT scan is normal..

Hi. My NT scan is normal with NT of 1.4. But dual marker is showing 1:634 for t21.. I did this two test in difference of 4 days. Also for dual marker the sample was collected on 23rd noon and sample was tested on 24th morning. Can that affect the readings in dual marker? Should I go for NIPT?

Double market test should be done before 13 weeks and 5 days

Hi Nt scan is ideally done between 11 weeks to 13 weeks 6 days and when crl falls between 33-80mm Dual marker ideally done between 10- 14 weeks nt of 1.4mm generally speaking is within normal limit and that again depends on gestational age. Time difference between sample collection tested has no significance 4 days of gap has no significance if testing was done before 14 weeks T21 risk ratio mentioned here is negative for screening. NIPT in your case is not advisable Usual indications for NIPT are following if dual marker screening is positive Soft markers showing increased risk for aneuploidies Generally age more than 35 Previous history of anomalous baby Known chromosomal translocation in parents If you are anxious and wanting to get screened, there is no harm and can very well go ahead for NIPT, it’s a blood test can be done anytime after 10 weeks

Better to go with NIPT for detail analysis Test values doesn’t depend on Time of collection
