Hi, my son is 1 and half year old. He hasn't passed a stool since 2 days. Today he passed stool just very little and it was hard. He is trying to pass and while doing it he is crying a lot. Please advice what he needs to be given? His weight is 10kg.

The problem appears to be of constipation And in most of the cases in children it is due to faulty diet. One need to Increase liquid diet. Increase fibre intake. Reduce milk intake. Increase quantity of fruits  and Vegetables in the diet.stop Maida products like biscuits and junk food.

in a mean while start him on syrup Liv 52, four ml thrice a day.

U need to change the child’s diet.lots of water and fibre rich food should be given.make it a habit to make the baby squat while passing motion..might need stool softeners at present
