No Edema but Pitting

I have been noticing that if I sit for long and my shin/leg is pressed against something for some time, I see pitting. So, i pressed near my shin bone for 10+ secs and I see pitting happening (only near shin bone and no where else). I do not see any visible edema on my legs. I do weight training (i sweat a lot when I physically exert). and try to be active as I am over weight BMI 32. I do my yearly health check and nothing alarming has come. Apart from grade 1 fatty liver and hba1c of 6, which is has now come down to 5.1. Please advise if this is something I need to check. should I go to a general physician or any specialised doctor?

It could be due to dependent edema of the limbs.If the pitting lasts for only a few seconds , you need not be concerned,keep the feet elevate while lying down.If it's long standing,do a CBC, renal,lft , urine analysis and consult a physician in your area.

It's dependent edema, you sit with leg on chair not hanging. At night use three pillows under leg. Other Thyroid Anemia Hypo protein Bp Nothing serious in your case.

Hi there There are various reasons for pitting /pedal edema . sometimes it may be physiological In case of Pregnancy ,high BMI individual, too much sitting or standing in same position.pathological reasons include different etiologies like renal , cardiac, thyroid , drug induced, low protein etc .Few investigations are to be done . B/f- CBC , Thyroid profile, Urea-creatinine, uric acid ,LFT, urine RE/ME (If done within the last 3 months , you can share ) Some other information might be helpful 1-Time your skin  takes to recoil back . 2. Is there any pain or not ? 3. Are you taking any medicine as of lately? . 4.Does your work/exercise includes lots of standing/sitting in same position ? 5. Did it happen suddenly or over the time ?. 6. Your vitals , BP, pulse

if the pitting is resolving within 10 seconds on its own and it's not chronic then , No need to worry .simply elevating the limb might be helpful along with regular walk. you can use compression socks .
