My baby boy bilirubin was 16.90 on 6th june and we kept him under blue light and retested again on 8th June and it was 15.78 mg/dl...doctor said you can keep under sunlight and discharged us...I can still see his skin as little yellow when pressed ...may I know how long it will take for him to completely recover ...and also how much time we need to keep him under sunlight and at what timings ..kindly suggest

If physiological jaundice ( starts after 24hrs, peaks at 5 to 6 days) it should disappear by 2 weeks of age
Next Steps
Can give sunlight exposure (by placing near a window) for 15 mts at a time 2 to 3 times a day
