My baby is 50 days old. The navel has been protruding since birth; the doctor said this is normal and will resolve on its own over time. What should I do now?

Is the only concern is protruding mass from umbilicus.how is feeding weight gain.and any history of thyroid or diabetes in mother if yes how much power u r using thyroid tablets.

It is quite common and it slowly improves on its own. It may take 1 year to go away. Reassess every month and follow up with your Pediatrician

Hello This is umbilical hernia which occurs due to weakened abdominal muscle wall that bulges when baby cries, coughs or strains. This happens in few babies which will resolve as baby grows. You need to observed if there is redness, discharge accompanied with fever. If there are above symptoms consult your paediatrician.
