My girlfriend had missed her periods and her periods is late by 6 days  but we had protected intercourse and she had did two pregnancy test and both of the result is negative. What is the reason behind this?

Delay of up to 7 days is considered normal beyond that other reasons like weight gain lack of exercise pcos and deranged thyroid and prolactic levels need to be evaluated
