Mucocele due to lip bite 11 days ago

I have developed a Mucocele (diagnosed by dentist) which happened due a lip bite 11 days ago. Doc has suggested surgery. I travel a lot due to work, so can I delay it by a week? Dentist is suggesting to do it now. How long does it take to recover? Will it change the shape of my lips? Can I avoid it or try any other method?

You can delay it for even more than a week. No problem at all. Your sutured wound will heal in about 5-7 days. Facial wound heal quickly. Your lip will have a scar. Or else to avoid it you get it done by an oral surgeon and ask them to give you sub- cuticular sutures.. this will give you minimal scar mark. There’s no other way to avoid surgery.
Next Steps
Visit your dentist as per your comfort. You can delay it for months even. Though better to get rid of it asap.

Hi madam. Mucocele need to be removed by surgery. If there is no pain and slowly increasing in size you can delay the procedure by a week. But don't prolong much as it can increase in size. Removing it will not change the shape of your lips. Normal surgical removal will take a week for you to recover. Laser removal will heal faster and will  be painless and reduce chances of recurrence

Hi, I would advise you to get the surgery done as soon as possible. Recovery will take 2 to 3 days only. You will not have any problem in travelling after the surgery. There will e no change in the shape of your lip.
