Sun therapy helps in controlling the jaundice to some extent if it is mild.
As Sunlight is not possible, we have to observe the child.
You can keep a watch on the yellowness of the skin. If it is upto stomach then need to get a test done. If upto thigh or palms or soles then need to get admitted.
Hydration is equally important ie breast feeding should be done in every 2 hours as dehydration can further increase the jaundice.
Blood group of mother and child is not an issue.
Danger signs: not taking feeds, irritable or lethargic, jaundice upto palm and soles
