My 5 year old daughter's ultrasound report says mesenteric lymph node of size 15*7mm , as 2 days before we did ultrasound. She occasionally says pain in whole belly , other than that she has no other symptoms like vomiting or fever or diarrhea. Doctor prescribed omniscient syrup , septran syrup along with rantop . I have given 3thrice (night. Next morning and night) , after that she said pain in chest area and difficulty in breathing. So I stopped. Please tell me what should I do

As you have described the pain in chest seems to be secondary to the antibiotic syp leading to heart burn. However a physical examination is must. For heart burn take syp rantop before meals followed by antibiotic after meals. Also child should not eat fried and junk food, his food should be free of spices and chillies. She should have plenty of fluids.

Hi Kindly visit your pediatrician again regarding chest pain and difficulty in breathing. This could be serious. As far as her ultrasound is concerned, you need to complete the course of antibiotics for appropriate duration. You don’t need to get usg repeated. Children can have mesentric lymph node enlargement due to gastroenteritis.

Hello The chest pain as described might be gastric irritation like burning sensation- side effect of antibiotic syrup.. you can continue giving rantop. Maintain good hydration.. avoid spicy foods.. if there is breathing difficulty you need to consult paediatrician for further evaluation.
