if your weight gain is due to some hormonal issue, get it checked out as the treatment for such issue will cause weight loss.
other things what you can do is,
instead of having 2-3 meals, divide how much ever you eat into 5 smaller meals.
decrease in the quantity of rice and include salads in your diet.
green tea will keep you active through the day.
brisk walking will help without putting a strain on your leg.
results will come slowly but surely.
