Surgery is definitely needed

If this fails, like in your case and patient is having weakness, sensory loss or excess pain then better to go for surgery as if timely surgery not done then there are chances of losing sensations and at times ability to walk even. So go ahead with surgery. She is just 48 years, not so old even. So surgery is not contraindicated unless she has heart problem or serious comorbidities.
