At your wife's age, improper posture, prolonged sitting and incorrect ways of bending forward can cause problems with the spine.
Try the following:
*For immediate pain relief, try Tab Ace Proxyvon (1 tablet after lunch and 1 tablet after dinner for 3 days) (if she is not allergic to it and is not a diabetic)
*To avoid such issues in the future, make sure she does the following:
-Do Bhujangasana (start with 5 counts per day and slowly increase the number of counts till she reach 40 counts per day)
-Avoid sitting on a stool/chair for more than 15 minutes at a time. After every 15 minutes, get up for 1 minute and then sit back again.
-Whenever she sits on a stool/chair, she should sit ahead on the edge of the stool/chair...that way she will automatically sit straight. She should not sit behind and try to take back support... otherwise she will involuntarily bend her spine and increase her spine problems.
-Whenever she bends forward, she should remember to fold her knees and then bend in front. Never bend forward with the knees straight.
-Avoid sitting on soft sofas.
-Avoid riding bike/scooty/car for a few days until her pain subsides.
