Lot of women have twenty one days to 35 days cycle which is considered normal, however if u are referring to a prolonged 40 days continuous bleeding it is most likely due to harmonal disturbance,post delivery,post Abortion or due to underlying pathology like fibroid ,polyps endometriosis, also called Dysfunctional Uterine bleeding which can be resolved once we know the exact cause .
