Left shoulder legiment surgery

I got my left shoulder ligament teared. I am not able to do gym not even pushups. Should bone slips from cuff if I do so. Doctor suggested to go for surgery but I want to know if I go for gym or pushups after surgery after some duration.

As a shoulder surgeon first I would like to see and assess before coming to conclusion . After successful surgery and rehab , u should be able to do.
