Slipped and fell yesterday during dance routine, and hurt my left ankle. In an hour, the ankle swelled and the pain became unbearable. Went to hospital and got xray done. There is no dislocation. doctor said likely very minor hairline fracture is there as per the size of swelling and pain, can get missed on xrays. Will greatly appreciate Practo Doctors' opinion!!! Also, do i need a PoP cast or will an ankle brace do??

Repeat X ray after a week. In the mean time immobilisation in POP slab is very helpful to control pain/swelling.
Health Tips
• Limb elevation, Active/Passive finger/Toe movements. • Crepe Bandage-To be applied by a medical doctor. • Intermittent ice pack application. • Rest/Non-weight-bearing mobilization till further advice. • Watch for increased Swelling/Excessive pain/Toe or Finger discoloration/Fever. If present, visit the nearest hospital immediately. • In case of allergic reactions to medicine, Immediately stop all medications and visit the nearest hospital. • Routine follow-up after X Ray.
