All lattice degeneration don't require treatment but regular  retinal check up at least yearly, lattice degeneration with hole require urgent laser photocoagulation to seal the hole otherwise it may result into retinal detachment.

Not all lattice degeneration require treatment.. Only few which are pigmented & with other changes require a treatment in the form of barrage laser..which is very safe.. Though a yearly follow-up  checkup is required.

No symptoms. May be floaters and or flashes if there is traction in the lattice. Only lattice with holes or with traction needs treatment by laser barrage and these are very few. All others need observation by regular yearly follow up. Lattice with high myopia and lattice with retinal detachment should be treated so also one eyed Patient to prevent detachment. There is no way to prevent lattice foemation
