Immediately after accident when I tried to stand up it felt like my knee is gone. lower bone and upper bone of knee are going in different direction. After reaching hospital X-ray nothing found no fracture 1week rest with support and doctor advised to visit on after 1week for MRI Suspecting ligament injury. Can you please suggest we are going in right direction? Do we need to consult some other doctor as well?

Looks like a ACL injury ..don't think twice and go for a MRI. It is a useful and mandatory investigation to evaluate ligamentous injuries of knee.
