Kid not sitting in a place

My kid is 6 years old. When she gets one to one attention, she sits in a place for long hours but when she is in a group along with 20 to 30 kids, she gets distracted easily. She doesn't sit in a place. Till now she hasn't got admission in school due to this behaviour. As parents we are concerned about her education. Also she is undergoing treatment for epilepsy on daily basis. She gets fits during fever. Can I  join her in inclusive school? Or special school? She talks, she responds to questions asked but her main pblm is no sitting tolerance.  But in home she sits doing colouring puzzles etc. But if it's new place, she starts roaming here and there. We are sending her to writing class and OT. What else can we do? Pls guide

It's understandable you're concerned about your 6-year-old daughter's education, especially with her epilepsy and challenges with attention and sitting tolerance in group settings. Her difficulty sitting still, particularly in new environments or with many children, is impacting her school admission. Given her current behavior and the lack of school placement, exploring a special school alongside inclusive options is crucial. A special school might offer a more tailored environment to address her specific needs and provide the focused support she requires. Her ability to sit and engage in activities like coloring puzzles at home is a positive sign, indicating her potential to focus with one-on-one attention. The ongoing writing class and Occupational Therapy (OT) are excellent steps. Consider seeking further professional evaluation for her attention and behavioral challenges. This could lead to strategies or therapies specifically designed to improve her sitting tolerance and group participation. Additionally, exploring behavioral therapy or strategies for children with ADHD-like symptoms might be beneficial, even if it's not a formal diagnosis. Continue to create structured, predictable environments at home to reinforce positive behaviors.
