Hi Doctor, I have a question, can I have my keloid removed without any side effects in long term? I have it on my shoulder and it looks very odd. Please suggest. Thanks.

Yes. Keloid can be removed but with minimal acceptable side effects. Common treatment are 1. Cryotherapy with Intralesional Steroids 2. 5 Flurouracil injection Surgical removal should not be done. Since it will aggravate keloid. Since it is on shoulder, you need multiple sittings
Next Steps
Consult Dermatologist

Keloid is overgrowth of scar tissue and it is due to inherent tendencies in the person. It can be removed by plastic surgery but there can be recurrence, which should be kept in mind.
