Kappa lambda ratio

What can be the causes of slightly elevated kappa light chains (33.1) and kappa/lambda ratio (1.83), other than MGUS and myeloma ? Our doctor is not at all concerned and thinks it's nothing. Can this slight elevation be normal ?

Mild elevations in the kappa lambda ratio is not very alarming. Absolute increase in light chains along with a change in ratio is significant on the appropriate clinical background. The most common cause of kappa lambda ratio change is AGE.
