6 months strict bed rest is too long period. You should take symptomatic treatment and do light work in the initial months. You should meet experienced and qualified Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for treatment of multiple joint pains.

Reactive arthritic pain in multiple joints after viral or other fevers is known to happen for 4-8weeks.only symptomatic treatment is necessary. It will subside on its own so relax. ESR is non specific so has no relevance here. You don't need a break of 6mths for sure.

6 months is a long period and absolute bed rest or total rest for such a long period is not needed, but the multiple joint pains is common after chickengunya.. please take adequate rest, avoid excessive exertion wherever possible... You can resume your work with light duty for initial month and gradually go on increasing the work loads while keeping watch of how your body is responds to various workstresses.. Symptoms will go on decreasing... For symptomatic treatment seek help from nearest orthopaedic and physiotherapist...

6 months is a long duration, may not b required.Chronic joint pains are seen in about 1 in 10 cases only. With time ur pain will start reducing. It is important to maintain healthy life style for early recovery.I would suggest to initiate ur activities depending upon ur pain level.
