Itching in stitches in-ankle in the cast

My ankle orif surgery was done on 11th feb and stitches were removed on 3rd March. My ankle is again in the cast for another 3 weeks. Is this normal? And how long does it take for recovery from ORIF surgery. Also I am having itching (near the incision) since it is inside the cast is there something can done on this?

Do not scratch with pencil or foot ruler. Do not put any powder in side the plaster cast. Go back to the surgeon who operated on you.

It's normal Recovery takes gradually but approximately for full weight bearing and walking it may take 2 to 3 months. For itching you can make window over cast and inspect
