The cream depends on the cause of itching and rash. For example- 1. Calamine and aloe containing creams are good for allergic rashes. 2. specific antifungal creams are prescribed for rashes and itching due to ringworm or other fungal infections.  3. Steroid creams are used for a limited amount of time under dermatologist’s supervision to get quick relief from certain rashes that occur due to skin diseases.  4. Immunomodulators like tacrolimus and pimecrolimus provide good relief in atopic dermatitis rashes. Its best that you visit your dermatologist at the 1st sign of rash, instead of trying over the counter products or self medicating yourself, so that the most appropriate treatment is provided to you and there are no side effects.
