No, it will not cause air embolism. Small amount of air often gets into venous system ( via IV cannula or other surgical procedures). This air emboli enters vein and stopped by our lungs before reaching to heart and arterial system. Usually 5-8 ml / kg of air emboli can be well absorbed by out lungs. But air embolism can occur at 0.5 ml dose if the person is suffering from heart diseases where right and left heart are connected via some path as eg. patent foramen ovale. But this is an acute problem , occurs within minutes of procedure , not after so long. So Relax..
