Intermediate result in double marker

2022-06-13 16:44:11
Hi , I am 13 weeks 3 days pregnant. We had NT scan and double marker test. NT scan seems to be normal. Pre natal screening is negative but only double marker test is intermediate ( 1 : 972 ) In NT scan screen positive for preeclampsia and  "a wave reversal seen and cardiac appears normal". For past 2 days am taking Ecospirin 150.Pls suggest should that we should go for NIPT. I am really worried that baby will be having down syndrome. I have attached the report for your reference. Please check and let us know. Thanks in advance

The report is rather ambiguous. When your biochemistry parameters show.      "low risk" and your sonography is also normal then how combined assessment gave intermediate risk ? I would like to wait for a quad marker. NIPT can be done at any time after 10 weeks but it is not clear how many patients will get an ambiguous report if NIPT is done before 16 weeks.

Dual test is just a screening test Intermediate risk needs to be further evaluated in the form of nipt or aminocentesis
