Injection site discomfort

My wife is 10 weeks pregnant. She is having projestrone injection every week on right hip. But since last injection, she is having pain and some itching at site at times. There was slight blood also when injection was given. How can we treat this?

Hot or ice cold compresses. However, if she has pain, redness and swelling at the sirte, she need to see the doctor in case site is infected.
