Initial Pregnancy Test
Yesterday I took my wife for the Initial pregnancy test , as we have already tested and confirmed with medical kit. Doctor asked for the kit picture and she also confirmed about the same. After that she gave us a medicine list which cost 800rs and asked us to some test like blood, urine etc.. which cost more than 4500rs. Please clarify whether this price is right or not for the initial test.

In my practice early pregnancy needs to medicines folic acid and progesterone supplementation. Of these the progesterone is the expensive one. Some doctors also prescribe medication for nausea and vomiting. The newer preparations which are mouth dissolving tend to be costlier but are more effective in people who voMit a lot and cannot tolerate they swallow.
Regarding tests, standard tests include haemogram blood group thyroid function blood sugar urine routine and occasionally vitamin d3 and b12. These can cost around rs4000 to 5000.or above (250+800+250+300+800+2500) An ultrasonography can cost up to rs 2000
