Hi doctors
I have got Infection after orif of tibia and fibula fractures on 26 November,operated on 22 November,fractures was on 8 November, I n feeling very weak and on 30 November fractured leg is cleaned by opening the sutures(pin)not thread. sir wt would be the cause for infection and how we cn take precautions .and something that u want to add with ur best thanks
Infection is one of the complication of surgeries but somehot preventable.
Don't be panic.
it needs to be evaluated that upto what extent the infection is-if it is superficial suture abscess of infection is till the bone.accordingly we have to manage.
cause of infections are many including patient,surgeon and fracture causes.
if you are diabetic then it needs to be controlled.
and best way to treat the infection is to diagnose correctly early and treating it perfectly.
