Igm positive

Exactly 1 month before i was infected with severe dengue and i had to undergo platelet transfusion because platelet went as low as 20k. 2 days back i started having fever again. This time fever was around 101-102 and not high as when i got initial dengue infection. Today i checked dengue test and it says As below Dengue IGG - Negative Dengue IGM - positive NS1 Ag - Negative Does these results mean i am infected with dengue again or is it showing positive because i was infected with dengue 30 days back. Please advise as i am getting tensed. Also heard that second time infection can be deadly

I don't know what you are trying to ask. Please specify the type of test which you got done for the diagnosis of Dengue for the first time. Please also specify how many units of Platelets were given to you. Please also specify what the platelet count is now . Please consult a General Physician with this information.

Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.

IgG levels usually develop after resolution of the acute infective stage. In your case, IgM being negative , does rule out secondary dengue to some extent. Because in secondary dengue  IgG > IgM . Although some more tests would help your case.

It is maybe showing positive because you got previously infected with dengue virus recently Dengue IgM can come positive after 7days of infection and can be remain positive up to 6months So if you are having similar symptoms kr not, like you had in dengue infection, once get tested for CBP see your platelet levels, if it is normal, its most likely you due to some other infection, not because of dengue.
