What is the ideal TSH required for the well being of a person?because in some labs they consider 0.5 to 4 and some labs they consider upto 5.5 to be normal TSH...Does a person require treatment with Thyronorm if the TSH is varying between 4 and 5.5 and having symptoms of hypothyroidism like tiredness, hair loss, weight gain etc?

Hello,  I went through your query,  most of the labs consider normal tsh levels between 0.5 to 5 mIU/L. But yes it varies between lab where you get tested. So normal value should be considered given  by lab tested. If your tsh levels are at higher levels and if you show signs of hyperthyroidism,  then your doctor may consider to start you on treatment. Please consult endocrinologist.
