IBS-D what specialist do I need to see?

I have had IBS-D for years now, I was diagnosed by a gastroenterologist. He prescribed many pills to treat/decrease symptoms. What type of specialist would I see to find cause of my IBS-D, and cure it??? Someone who checks stomach flora, and does allergy testing for foods. Not just masking symptoms to the problem. Is there a specialist for that?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. IBS stands for irritable bowel syndrome and what treatment he gave is the only treatment available for it.
