Hyperpigmentation after fungal infection

She suffered Fungal Infection on her private area for almost 7-8 months, then after that she consulted a local clinic doctor and applied creams prescribed by the doctor. The fungal infection disappeared leaving heavy dark marks, so how can she clear those marks permanently? The area has been hyperpigmented for almost 1 and a half years. What can be done to clear that hyperpigmentation permanently?
