Hi I am 34 year old male patient. An object just stroked my hand and the finger is injured. The tendon of the finger is disrupted and I have developed mallet finger because of which I cannot make my finger straight. Will this deformity stay lifelong or is there a treatment to correct it?

If the injury is recent, wear a mallet finger splint to keep distal interphalangeal joint in hyperextension. If the injury is old, then surgery is the answer.
